The Virginia Chorale, the Commonwealth’s premier professional chamber chorus, opens its 40th anniversary season with enCHANTing. This program of choral masterpieces is inspired by chant, including Sephardic Jewish, Anglican, and Gregorian. Internationally renowned organist Nathan Laube joins the Chorale
in a performance of Maurice Durufle´’s exquisite Requiem. Artistic Director Charles Woodward will conduct.

Founded forty years ago, the Virginia Chorale has grown from a community-based early music chorus to today’s dynamic group of professional singers, performing repertoire ranging from the Middle Ages to the music of today. EnCHANTing is the first of four programs in our 2023-2024 subscription series.
