Summary

Elizabeth Park Civic League has a long history that pre-dates the annexation of the neighborhood into Norfolk from Princess Anne County. It ensured that when the annexation occurred that the neighborhood was able to obtain city services and improvements offering a wonderful place to live.

Lois Taylor, the Leagues historian in 1977 wrote a wonderful summary of the history from 1957 to 1977.

A few of the Charter Members of the League are still residents of “the Park” today. Many members and residents of the Park have become noteworthy names in Norfolk history.
