Be A Good Dog Neighbor!

Elizabeth Park Residents are reminded that it is the owner’s responsibility to keep pets safe, well-treated and secured.

 –Nuisance animals: It shall be unlawful for any owner or custodian of an animal to fail to exercise proper care and control of his animal to prevent it from becoming a public nuisance. Excessive, continuous or untimely barking, molesting of passersby, chasing vehicles, attacking other domestic animals, or trespassing upon school grounds, public or private property shall be deemed a nuisance. YOU are responsible for your dog’s behavior and well-being.

Helpful hints:

  • Make sure your dog is properly leashed and under your control when out walking or when others are lawfully walking around your house or on your street.
  • Scoop the poop. Please pick up after your dog Take bags with you and keep our neighborhood clean.
  • Take care to check the adequacy of your fencing height, properly closing gates, working locks and the strength of your screen door/storm door.  
  • Display proper warning signage to advise utility workers or public safety personnel
  • Protect your dog from inclement weather (Don’t keep them outside in extreme heat or cold)

Please report any loose, aggressive dogs to the police or animal control.
