How To Be A Good Developer

On February 11th, 2014, the Franklin Johnston Group proposed a development in the Compostella section of the City. They received praise by the City Council in how they worked with the neighbors to make changes in density, type of housing and even the name of the community. It was noted that the way they worked with the Community was the way the city wanted to do business and praised them for it. Fast forward to January 29th, 2019. Once you get big, it looks like you no longer have to involve the community in those discussions, but can simply do what you want.

Very disappointing. Below is the link to the clip where City Council lauds them for working with the community. In the Public Hearing following the statements, they grant a continuance for another development application since it was the first time in front of the council. We didn’t get a chance to work with the Franklin Johnston Group on the development here, and didn’t get a continuance to have them take that action.

This is a link to the entire hearing for the Campostella development if you want to see all the comments and discussion that lead to the above.
